It's jealousy of other people's love that brings out the worst in so many misguided souls... It's ironic that in a country and culture which idolizes martyrs, they have executed two people for love, thus making them into martyrs of love...
It's speculation that Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni were hung for being gay, but it was about a possible rape case involving another 13-year-old boy, there was no evidence that their acts were consensual. The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission agreed that this wasn't a "gay issue." The issue more pressed in that case was execution of minors which violates international human rights laws.
